OATLALI (South African chess game)

OATLALI is a new South African chess,a two player turn based strategy board game, played on a nine-by-nine board. Each player consists of 22 pieces, just like any other chess game it's objective is to checkmate the opponent's king.

OATLALI was created in 2019 by Moeketsi Mohlakola. It was inspired by other chess games around the world. Games like Shogi, Xaingqi, Janggi, Makruk, Chess ect.

And also by other strategy board games like Gomoki, Othello, Hnefatafle Morabaraba and many more.

Even though it is created in nowadays it is based on ancient South African warfare including Africa as whole long before Europeans colonized mother Africa.

As said that each player consists of 22 pieces, the are 8 types of piece.
King(×1), General(×2), Wizard(×2), Horse(×2), Rook(×2), Spear(×2), Healer(×2) and Pawn(×9)
